How to keep your skin moisturized during the winter months

Christmas is right around the corner. That means parties, closeups, family photos, ect. It also means cold, drying air that is harsh on your skin and can result in dry, dull cracked skin. Here’s some tips to help you keep your glow year round.

    1. Invest in a humidifier

Your skin will thank you so much for this one. Believe it or not, your skin suffers a lot when your sleeping especially if you keep the heat on in your home. A humidifier will replenish the air with moisture to keep your skin from turning into a dessert. Here’s a bonus, replacing the dry stuffy air will help you sleep better too.

    2. Stay hydrated

This ones tougher in the winter months. Studies show that people unconsciously drink less water during the cooler months. Drink! Drink! Drink! Staying hydrated will keep your skin soft and plump. Tip: if you have difficulties drinking plain water try adding a couple drops of lemon, it’ll go down smoother and the lemon will help brighten up your complexion.

    3. Upgrade your moisturizer

This one may seem obvious but using the same moisturizer you used all summer is not going to cut it in the winter. Lotions are fine for the summer since they’re light and hydrating, however, for the winter they will not last long on your skin. You see, because lotions are made primarily of water it will evaporate quickly leaving your skin to the drying winter elements. Switching to body butters and heavier creams will provide lasting moisture. Body butters are formulated with rich nourishing ingredients to replenish, soften, and deeply hydrate the skin.
